These small jars of honey are indicative of how precious honey is this year after such a harsh 2017/18 winter.
Many colonies were lost and Queens did not survive going into winter. Beekeepers cannot be expected to keep absorbing those losses so these small jars are ‘special edition’ jars to pass on some of the costs of re-stocking to supporters. Buying these small jars of honey supports the costs of new bees and equipment. In 2018 just a few new colonies were added to the Little House gene pool.
